Investment fair's 'Golden Key' makes splash in HK, Macao

The 25th China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT) held the Promotion Symposium in Hong Kong and Macao on July 17 and 18 respectively.

Since its inception 24 years ago, the CIFIT has expanded from an initial exhibition area of 28,000 square meters to 120,000 square meters today. Over the years, it has facilitated the signing of more than 30,000 projects, with a total investment value exceeding $1 trillion.

As a key stop on CIFIT's global promotion tour, the symposiums attracted over 400 participants, including representatives from government departments, business associations, financial institutions, and leading enterprises in Hong Kong and Macao.

The organizing committee's invitation to the Hong Kong and Macao business communities received an enthusiastic response.

Hong Kong and Macao have participated in CIFIT every year since its inception. This year, Hong Kong will continue its involvement by setting up a Hong Kong pavilion, showcasing its strengths as an international financial hub, shipping center, and innovation powerhouse. Additionally, it will host two exchange events focusing on commerce and trade as well as innovation and technology.

Su Jianhua, president of the Macao-Xiamen Federation, said that CIFIT brings together government agencies, industrial resources, policy insights, and market opportunities from across the globe, providing Macao's various sectors with an efficient platform to connect with both Chinese mainland and international markets.

During the promotion symposium, CIFIT's host city Xiamen invited global businesses to become "urban partners" of the city. Xiamen's world-class business environment has become its golden trademark.
