World Ocean Week launches in Xiamen

Xiamen hosted last Thursday the debut of World Ocean Week, which is celebrating its twentieth anniversary. At the opening ceremony, a number of projects with high technological sophistication, strong core competitiveness, and significant industrial driving force were signed and landed in Xiamen, with a total contracted value exceeding 13.9 billion yuan.

This year's event focuses on marine economic development, ecological conservation and technological innovation. Ocean Week includes roughly 20 activities and is expected to draw more than 500 global maritime experts. Ocean Week spotlighted commercial marine opportunities in areas such as pharmaceuticals and deep-sea equipment through business matchmaking events.
