Golden Rooster film pacts fuel Xiamen's industry growth

The GRIFF Industry Opening Ceremony and Xiamen Cultural Film and Television Industry Project Signing Ceremony kicked off on Nov 11. During the event, agreements for a total of 177 cultural and film-television industry projects were signed, with a total contract value of 31.86 billion yuan ($4.48 billion).

Among these, four projects are each worth 1 billion yuan or more, while 90 projects fall in the range of 100 million to 1 billion yuan.

Of the total, 84 projects are in film and television, 56 in culture and arts, 17 in cultural tourism, eight in music, and 12 in other cultural sectors.

This year's signed projects are distinctly characterized by their strong focus on film, music, and arts — areas central to Xiamen's vision of building itself into a "cultural center, art city, and music island". A total of 148 projects, accounting for 83.6 percent of the total, fall under these categories.

The number of projects in cultural technology fields such as artificial intelligence and digital filmmaking has increased notably compared to previous years, with these initiatives being more focused on fostering new quality productive forces in the cultural sector.

For instance, the Pole Interactive Technology AI Application Productivity Doubling Project signed that day can utilize AI and other technologies to double the existing production capacity of Xiamen's animation companies.
