As of December 3, the number of inbound and outbound passengers at Xiamen Port this year has exceeded 5.5 million. Among these, the number of foreign national passenger entries and exits has surpassed 1 million for the first time, representing a year-on-year increase of over 13% and setting a new annual record for foreign passenger volume since the port commenced operations. With the sustained popularity of "travel to China," more than 330,000 foreign nationals have entered Xiamen Port visa-free this year, an increase of over 35% compared to the same period last year. This accounts for 60% of the total inbound foreign passengers during the same period, highlighting the convenience of visa-free policies as a significant factor in attracting foreign visitors to China. In terms of passenger origins, foreign travelers from Malaysia, Singapore, ROK, Indonesia, and Australia rank among the top sources entering and exiting via Xiamen Port. "My brother and I both entered Xiamen using the transit visa exemption policy. With a full 10 days, we have plenty of time to travel to surrounding cities as well!" said Emily, a British traveler who recently entered under the 240-hour transit visa-free policy. Since its implementation, this policy has effectively encouraged foreign passengers in transit to enter China for business meetings, tourism, and cultural exchanges. Data indicates that the number of 240-hour temporary entry permits issued at Xiamen Port this year has increased more than threefold compared to the same period last year. Currently, China has established comprehensive mutual visa exemption agreements with 29 countries and implements unilateral visa-free policies for nationals of 48 countries.
