Port of Xiamen strives to become world-class shipping hub

In 2025, the Port of Xiamen in Southeast China's Fujian Province achieved a container throughput of 12.51 million TEUs and a cargo throughput of 211 million tons, reporting growth in both figures.

In 2026, the port will focus on serving as a crucial node and channel in consolidating and promoting domestic-international dual circulation. By concentrating on seven major tasks, the port aims to see a steady improvement in key production indicators, establish itself as a world-class port, and assist Xiamen in transforming into a node city aligned with China's new development paradigm.

The port's "circle of friends" expanded significantly in 2025, with the number of container shipping routes reaching 182, connecting with 145 ports across 53 countries and regions.

During the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) period, the port aims to establish itself as a world-class international seaport and an international shipping center in Southeast China.

The port's development strategy focuses on enhancing its overall capabilities, expanding its reach, diversifying its functions, and promoting transformation in line with Xiamen's urban development framework as part of its efforts to become a truly world-class port.
