Xiamen's robotic industry flourishes

Since the start of the year, China has seen an increasing number of robots taking center stage on the global technology arena. 

Xiamen, Southeast China's Fujian Province, has gained a robust momentum for the development of the artificial intelligence sector, with a number of excellent robot-related enterprises gathering in the city and a large number of robots being applied in various industries. 

According to the app Qichacha Tec, there are currently over 17,000 robot-related enterprises in Xiamen. 

Recently, Linde Material Handling GmbH, a company in the KION Group based in Xiamen, delivered seven compact pallet handling robots called L-MATIC to Xiamen Faratronic Co., Ltd. 

Faratronic is a world leading film capacitor manufacturer, ranking top globally in scale. It has become a core supplier to leading enterprises in industries such as household appliances, lighting, industrial controls and photovoltaics. 

Embracing rapid technological advancements, the company actively engages in technological innovation, introduces advanced automation equipment and optimizes warehouse management.

L-MATIC robots possess high safety and flexibility, capable of carrying 1.2 metric tons. Equipped with multiple intelligent sensors and independent safety control modules, they can perceive the surrounding environment in real-time and complete stacking and handling operations accurately and efficiently, according to Linde Material Handling GmbH. 

Currently, the intelligent robot industry is flourishing in Xiamen, which has brought together numerous upstream and downstream enterprises related to robots, including Xiamen Aerospace Siert Robot System Co., Ltd. and Agirent (Xiamen) Robot Co., Ltd. In recent years, the registration volume of robot-related enterprises in Xiamen has shown a growing trend. 

In the workshops of Xiamen Lanxu Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., cleaning robots have steadily come off the production line. In recent years, the cleaning robots produced by the company have been sold to 25 countries and regions. 

The industrial robot industry cluster in Xiamen's Jimei District was selected to be on the list of characteristic industry clusters for small and medium-sized enterprises, released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in 2022. 

At present, there are over 130 industrial robot industry supply chain enterprises in Jimei, with an average annual growth rate of approximately 22% in industrial output value over the past three years.
