Notably, since Indonesia was added to the list of countries eligible for the 240-hour visa-free transit on June 12 this year, it has quickly become the top source country for applications of the 240-hour temporary entry permit at Xiamen Port over the past six months, with applications exceeding 850. This is attributed to the port's dense flight network and solid trade cooperation foundation. As a popular entry destination for foreign tourists to China, Xiamen offers diverse scenarios for the 240-hour visa-free transit, leveraging its advantages such as international air routes, a cruise home port, and direct links with Taiwan. Foreign travelers are no longer confined to brief "transit stopovers" but have unlocked new "multi-city tour" experiences. They can either stay in Xiamen to enjoy coastal scenery and explore Southern Fujian's intangible cultural heritage, or use the sea-air and air-rail intermodal hubs to travel by flight, high-speed rail, or the Xiamen-Kinmen "Mini-Three-Links" route to destinations like Fuzhou, Quanzhou, and Kinmen. Some even have sufficient time to embark on cross-province long-distance tours.
